About Actinoscyphia liui

The Venus flytrap sea anemone Actinoscyphia liui is a species in the genus Actinoscyphia, showing specialization resembling the Venus flytrap plant, with two comparable lobes exhibiting a body shape with bilateral symmetry. They can actively orient their oral discs to the current for foraging, exhibiting feeding behaviour similar to that of flytrap plants. In addition, they can inhabit the nutrient-limited deep ocean in the tropical western Pacific.
